I Took Snooze Off My Alarm🙅🏾♂️💤
ITHACA, N.Y. -- It won't be hard to see eye to eye with me here. We've *all* been there! Your alarm goes off, you and you hit snooze again, and again, and again until you somehow muster the willpower to awaken from your sip of another universe aka sleep💤 . I'm talking pressing snooze to the point where even YOU are screaming "Ohhhhh my gosh!" seriously asking yourself "Why can't I get up?!" I've been there. Or your alarm goes off, you thinkkkk you hit snooze only to realize that is not AT ALL what you did. You turned the thing off, dude!! And now you're maddddd late. 😳 I'm guessing you've got your hand raised at this point. 🙋🏾♂️🙋🏼♂️🙋🏿♀️🙋🏻♀️
Snooze is evilllll 🥀😼.
I'm not going to lie to you. You likely aren't the main problem, here. It's just that you've probably become immune to your alarm ringing because you press snooze every morning. So much so that you no longer see your alarm for what it is: a tool to not just get you up, but get you out of bed. In order to restore your understanding of your alarm being there to let you know it's time to start your day, you have to do something that probably sounds absurd.
Snooze, you don't have to go home...but you gotta get up outta here!!✌🏾
Removing the snooze option from your life will force you to get up. You can choose to have no back-up alarms so you know you that once it rings you betterrrr get up OR ELSE. As an aspiring journalist, I *really* can't play around with being late...even by a minute. It just doesn't fly in this business so I choose to use Alarmy. It's an app that among hosting many other options allows you to set your alarm so that it will not turn off until you scan a barcode. Mine is set to the barcode of Jen Sincero's You Are A Bad*** which is on my desk.
Yes, that means every single morning my alarm will not stop ringing (and in my personal opinion gets louder😬) until I am not only out of the bed, but conscious enough to have turned on a light so that my phone camera can see and scan the barcode. At that point, especially since my bed is raised here at college, I neverrrr go back in it. 😌
Try it, and please do drop a comment below or hit me up @ClassyMalick to let me know how it went!!
